Two natural materials meet in this necklace: round Akoya pearls and dark faceted garnet.
The pale strand of pearls forms an even, closely arranged line, while the faceted garnets create a darker row with wine-red reflections. The contrast between the soft surface of the nacre and the sharper cut of the stones gives the double-strand construction a particularly clear definition.
The clasp is made of 925 silver and marked JKA, the maker’s mark of J. Köhle in Pforzheim. The company was known for jewellery clasps, and Pforzheim’s long-standing role as a German centre of jewellery production gives the signature a relevant historical context. Here, the pierced clasp forms a visible part of the composition and is finished with the same attention as the necklace’s selected materials.
